Climate Week NYC 2024: Key Highlights, Events, and Insights

We had an incredible experience at Climate Week New York 2024—both energising and exhausting in the best way!

It was amazing to finally meet many of our partners in person after months, and in some cases, years of virtual collaboration. With clients, suppliers, and ecosystem stakeholders spread across the globe, these face-to-face interactions were invaluable for strengthening relationships and uncovering new opportunities.

A highlight of the week was co-hosting a dinner with Andes to bring a core group of partners together and celebrate Climate Week New York. It was a wonderful group and a fabulous evening!

Here are some key takeaways from the week:

• Policy and Market Clarity: There is an increasing need for clearer guidance from governments and Voluntary Carbon Market (VCM) standards to drive demand and scale carbon removal technologies. The STBi’s workshop on Monday offered helpful insights, which we hope will provide more direction for corporate carbon removal efforts in the near future.
• A More Sophisticated Ecosystem: The ecosystem continues to evolve, with MRV partners developing advanced methodologies. Isometric and Puro hosted exceptional events, while dMRV partners like Cula are driving greater transparency and integrity in the market.
• Focus on Carbon Removal: There was a strong emphasis on carbon dioxide removal (CDR) throughout the week, with numerous dedicated events reflecting the significant growth in both supply and demand that we’ve observed in 2024.
